Dar es Salaam. Stand United will announce their new head coach on Friday, according to the club’s technical bench director, Muhibu Kanu.

Kanu, who is attending a coaching course in Morogoro, said yesterday that the Stand United’s executive committee is nearing a decision on who will take up the reins for the forthcoming season.

He said two coaches, one foreign, have made it to the last phase of interviews, adding that it is now down to the committee to pick a replacement of Patrick Liewig.

Stand United terminated the Frenchman’s contract at the end of the 2015/16 Premier League season.

The Shinyanga-based outfit finished the season seventh with 40 points, 33 below champions Young Africans.

“We are at an advanced stage of negotiations with the two coaches and by Friday the committee will announce the new tactician,” he said.

Kanu said the team will go to camp on Monday under the new coach in preparation for the new season, which will kick off next month
