Dar es Salaam. Fifteen players have been cleared to contest for the 2017/2018 Mainland Tanzania Premier League awards on June 23 at the Mlimani City hall.
The players are Obrey Chirwa, Papy Tshishimbi and Kelvin Yondani, all from Young Africans while from Singida United are Shafiq Batambuze, Mudathir Yahya andTafadzwa Kutinyu and from Simba are John Bocco, Emmanuel Okwi, Shiza Kichuya and Erasto Nyoni.
The others are Adam Salamba (Lipuli), Habibu Kyombo (Mbao); Marcel Kaheza (Majimaji); Yahya Zayd (Azam) and Hassan Dilunga of Mtibwa Sugar. Earlier, the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) announced 30 players for the awards.
During the day, mainland premier league winner, Simba; runner-up, Azam FC; Young Africans (third placed) and Tanzania Prisons will be offered prizes.
There will also be the best scorer award, most disciplined team award, best youth player award (Ismail Khalfan), youngest player award, best assistant referee award, best referee, best goalkeeper, best goal of the season, VPL best squad and hall of fame award.
