Engineer who spent 48hrs in lake rescued

Ukerewe.  A man who spent 48 hours in Lake Victoria when a ferry capsized has been rescued, leaving tens of citizens reacting emotionally.

More than a hundred people have died.

Ukerewe residents have criticised the government for halting the rescue operation.

Mr Patrick Amos, who lost his sibling in the accident, said he was dumbfounded by the decision.

Many other people faulted the government.

But Mwanza regional commissioner John Mongella said the rescue operation was stopped in accordance with the advice of marine experts.
