Nine govt employees killed as car plunges into river

Morogoro. Nine Ministry of Land, Housing and Human Settlements Development employees died on Saturday when their vehicle plunged into Kikowila River in Kilombero District.
The accident occurred at around 5.30pm when the officials were returning from a land surveying exercise in the district.
Four people were injured in the accident, and were taken to Saint Francis Hospital in Kilombero for treatment.
Kilombero District Commissioner James Ihunyo said the government was informing relatives of the deceased about the accident.
“The defence and security committee for the district will meet tomorrow (Sunday) morning where it will issue detailed information of what will follow,” said Mr Ihunyo.
