Nine CCM councilors eye Mbozi Council chairmanship

CCM councilors feel that they are in a good position of leading the council that has for long been faced with corruption scandals.

The Mbozi District Council has 29 councilors including 10 from Chadema. However, CCM councilors feel that they are in a good position of leading the council that has for long been faced with corruption scandals.

Mbozi. Nineout of 19 councilors will vie for chairman and deputy chairman positions in the Mbozi District Council under the CCM ticket.

 CCM councilors-elect who picked forms to vie for chairman include; the immediate former Council chairman Elik Ambakisye from the Mlangali Ward; Aloyce Mdalavuma  (Bara Ward); Barton Sinienga (Ipunga Ward); Richard Mahaya (Mpito Ward) and Tinson Nzunda (Nyimbili Ward).

 Those contesting for the position of deputy chairman are four male councilors, who are, Alani Mgula of the Itaka Ward; Emiry Mzumbwe  (Isansa Ward);  Exaud Kibona (Igamba Ward)  and Ezekia Mwashambwa (Wasa Ward).

 

 

 

 

Mbozi District CCM Secretary Doris Kimambo confirmed the start of the process as five aspirants are contesting for chairman of the council while four others for deputy chairman.

 

Kimambo said a meeting on screening the CCM aspirants will start today.
