Failing to plan is planning to fail, so goes a well-known adage, which, sadly, is also reflective of Tanzania’s participation at this year’s World Athletics Championships, which ended yesterday in Budapest.
Long-distance runner Alphonce Simbu – Tanzania’s sole representative at the weeklong championships in the Hungarian capital – failed to finish in yesterday’s men’s marathon, which saw runners from other African nations take five of the first six places.
