33 Bluefins swimmers ready for national junior event

Dar es Salaam. Renowned Bluefins Swim Club have announced a strong team of 33 members for the Tanzania National Junior Championships scheduled to take place this Saturday and Sunday at Masaki’s International School of Tanganyika (IST) in Dar es Salaam.
The club's founder and head trainer, Rahim Alidina, stated that the team comprises 14 female and 19 male swimmers.
The female swimmers are Inaya Raheel, Sakina Abdulali, Rania Noorani, Amatullah Mustansir, Zahra Alibhai, Imaan Kimario, Huda Tamim, Sukaina Ladha, Irhaa Raheel, Maahira Noorani, Aaradhya Barmeda, Alefiyah Patwa, Ithra Kahemele, and Zainab Moosajee.
The male swimmers are Burhanuddin Jafferjee, Taher Zavery, Wathiq Mbaye, Is-Haq Suleiman, Justin Wabbi, Burhanuddin Fazleabbas, Uzair Harunani, Adam Hassanali, Burhanuddin Abdulkadir, Sahil Jaffer, Burhanuddin Hatim, Qais Kanji, Muhammad Mbaye, Burhanuddin Huzeifa, Saalih Mbonde, Haadi Meghji, Ryan Muwanga, Yaseen Mbaye, and Burhanuddin Yusuf.
Alidina highlighted that the swimmers have undergone intensive training in preparation for the competition, aiming to excel and become the overall winners. "We have been training our junior swimmers intensively for this event and we expect good results at the gala this weekend. Our club is renowned as an academy where talented swimmers are developed into national and international athletes.
“We will continue to provide the necessary platform for young swimmers to showcase their talent and ability at the highest level," said Alidina.
He added that the club's panel of coaches has been preparing those young swimmers diligently, and the latter are confident about achieving new personal best times (PBs) as well as winning medals and trophies.
Aside from Bluefins, the event will feature other clubs such as Taliss-IST, Dar Swim Club, FK Blue Marlins, Champion Rise, and others. The competition aims to gauge the skills of junior swimmers and provide them with valuable exposure.
The event will also feature foreign junior swimmers, according to Tanzania Swimming Association (TSA) Secretary General Inviolata Itatiro.
Itatiro said they have decided to give foreign swimmers a chance to feature in the event to make it more competitive and challenging.
She stated that the event is open to all current 2023/2024 Tanzania registered swimmers and all foreign swimmers who have achieved qualifying time standards and have been cleared by their swimming governing bodies.
