Dar es Salaam. Young Africans will board a private jet to Mauritius where they will play Cercle de Joachim in the first leg of the CAF Champions League preliminary round on Saturday.
The Jangwani heavyweights were to depart yesterday, but cancelled the journey after learning that they would not get an early Port Louis-bound flight in South Africa.
“We had to cancel our flight to South Africa because the team could not have connected with another flight to Mauritius early enough,” said Yanga communications manager, Jerry Muro.
“We wanted the team to land in Port Louis early enough, but we realised that our players would have stayed at the O. R. Tambo International Airport for more than 10 hours. This is unhealthy for the players.
“We want to make this trip shorter so that our players can rest and train well before the Saturday game, so the management has decided to hire a private jet and the team will now leave on Friday (tomorrow)
